Notes from Delores

Join us on Tuesday, December 8th at 2pm as the City Council, sitting as the San Diego Housing Authority, votes on Community HousingWorks request for $7 million in public funding for the LGBT-affirming senior housing community officially known as North Park Seniors. Last year the City Council voted unanimously to approve the design and entitlements for the project, the December 8 vote should be the last step! If on the 8th the Council votes in favor of funding the project, Community HousingWorks (CHW) will likely be able to start construction in 2016! Please join us as we support this project (Community HousingWorks will develop the property and the San Diego LGBT Community Center will provide services on-site!) Even if you can’t stay for the whole meeting, stay for an hour, and register your support!
1. The Council Meeting is on the 12th Floor of City Hall at 202 C Street and starts at 2 PM.
2. Volunteers will be there to help you sign in and give you the bright green sticker to wear showing your support for funding the project.
3. Please show up at 2 PM, fill out a speaker slip “In Support” of the agenda item and feel free to check “I do not want to speak”. CHW will have previously worked with the community to ensure three people to speak in favor of the project.
5. Please arrive early since you will need to go through security screening and we expect a large turnout for the many votes that will be taken that day.
