Taiwan’s Tsai Ing-wen Supports Marriage Equality

Taiwan on Saturday elected Tsai Ing-wen, the island nation’s first female president.

Tsai’s victory marks the first time her Democratic People’s Party (DPP) has controlled Taiwan’s parliament since the nation’s founding in 1949.

According to The New York Times, Tsai included three same-sex couples in a campaign video she released on Cixi, Chinese Valentine’s Day, last August.
